Besides my huge love for anything fashion, beauty products and cosmetics have always been one of my favorite things. Getting dolled up for a night out is something I just love, and besides creating the perfect outfit, beautiful make-up is in my opinion essential. One of my favorite things to do is going on a date night with my love Emiel. We both love trying new foods at our favorite restaurants and lounging afterwards at either a trendy hot spot in town or a cozy cafe in the area. When ever we go out I always try to create a new look to surprise him.

When E.L.F. Cosmetics reached out to me to create a make-up look with a few of their products, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to create a evening look for you guys. Emiel does not like too much make-up on me. I am one of those lucky gals, he prefers me with no make-up at all. He does love it in the right amounts though, so on our date nights I like to keep it light, yet glamorous enough to feel like it is a special occasion, which of course it always is.

E.L.F. Eyes Lips Face is an American budget cosmetics brand founded in 2004 that is very purse friendly, yet creates great products considering their absolutely amazing price tag. The story behind this brand is very cool I think.

Before E.L.F. existed, there was a time when New York make up artist: Scott Vincent Borba would notice B&W and Mercedes Benz cars parked outside of the 99 cent store in Los Angeles. Borba also noticed the owners of these luxury cars would bargain for the cheapest deals on their favorite lipsticks and nail polishes. An idea started right there and then. Creating a make up brand for an amazing price, yet with a superior quality. E.L.F. Cosmetics was born.

E.L.F. Flawless Finish Foundation, Hearts on nails

A great make-up starts with a good foundation. I started my make-up by stippling the E.L.F.  Flawless Finish Foundation with a stippling foundation brush. The foundation gives medium coverage and it does stay put for hours, which is a great thing. I usually use a much lighter water based foundation by M.A.C. so for me personally this foundation is great for night time events. It really evens out my skin tone. This foundation tends too be slightly mattifying, so this product would be great for oily or combination skins. If you have dry skin, make sure to moisturize well and use a good primer.

E.L.F. Cosmetics, E.L.F. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick

I love a beautiful red lip and the E.L.F. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in the color: Movie Star adds enough of a sexy ruby-red shade that is not too over powering. It makes the lips look kind of stained. Great for a day time red lippie right? The effect of this lip stick is mat, so if you want to add a bit of lip gloss for some extra shine, that works perfectly too.

E.L.F. Cosmetics, E.L.F. Smudge Pot

I absolutely love the E.L.F. Smudge Pots. They come in all different colors and you can use this pot as a smudgy longlasting eye shadow or you can line your upper or lower eye line with them. This one is in the color: "Coco Cutie". It's filled with vitamine E to keep eye lids looking perfectly hydrated. Nothing is worse then dried out eye make up right? Ok just kidding there are worse things, but it's pretty terrible and so not sexy. I love a smudgy lower line, so that's what I did to create my evening look.

Btw how do you like the painted hearts on my nails I got done for Valentines day?

E.L.F. Contour blush and bronzing powder

No make up is complete without some proper contouring. This duo contour blush and bronzing powder palette gives you a bronzed glow. The darkest color was a bit too dark for me, but the lighter color was perfect. Try a lighter palette like the one here if you are fair skinned, as I am a quite a bit tanned from using a self tanner spray by Vita Liberata

E.L.F. baked eye shadow pallete, E.L.F. Cosmetics

For a glamorous eye make-up, I swiped on a few colors from the Baked Eye Shadow Palette. The colors are beautiful, but not too pigmented, so you can just swipe away without making too many dreaded mistakes. I used a wet brush to intensify the colors for my look, which worked just great.

Step 1: After applying a primer to my eye lids from Urban decay- I love this one- I applied  the champagne colored shade all over my eye lids.

Step 2: With a thin brush I applied the darkest brown shade in the crease all the way to the outer corners of my eye.

Step 3: Next I applied the golden shade right in the center of my eye lid right above my lashes.

Step 4: For some extra drama, I used the white shade on my inner corners and right below my brow bone.

Step 5 Always loving me some shimmer, I added the pink shade right above the inner corner of my eye.

To finish the look, I apllied a black eye pencil to line my upper lashes. I love the drama liqui-pencil from L'ancome. Next I used the E.L.F. Smudge Pot in the color: Coco Cutie to line my lower lashes. I smudged it a bit with my finger for a soft and natural look and finished with two coats of my favorite mascara also by Lancome.

Quick and easy and I was done!

E.L.F. Shimmer Pallete, E.L.F. Cosmetics

I always finish my make-up with a bit of highlighting. These four highlighters from the E.L.F. Shimmer Pallete I used on my eyes and cheeks for a beautiful shimmer. I love the fact there are four shades in one palette.

I am used to using high end make-up products from Dior, Bobby Brown and M.A.C. So I am a bit spoiled when it comes to my make-up.  E.L.F. Cosmetics are a great option if you are looking for a good quality product and want to stock up on a ton of lip glosses and eye palletes, foundations and face powders for an amazing deal. It is pretty packaged so that's one big plus for me too.

I am curious to hear if you have tried out this brand too and what your opinions are. I always love to hear from you guys

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

With love Tamara Chloé

  2. I totally agree with Emiel: you don’t need any of this. But I can imagine that a girly girl like you feels kind of naked without it. So glad you tuned it down, with the best result!
