Casual in Leiden City

Last Sunday me and Emiel spent the day in the city of Leiden which is a small town half an hour south of Amsterdam. This little town is very cute and romantic and it was the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary, something we do every month, instead of only once a year like most couples.  We were also celebrating the fact we made a big plunge by finally moving in together which has been so much fun. I love coming home so much, knowing he is always there.  We shot these photos in a rush just before sunset and enjoyed the most amazing Greek food afterwards.

   
Wearing a summer dress in the fall is definitely possible when you layer your look with fall pieces, like the khaki jacket and printed scarf I am wearing. Add a pair of fringed ankle boots for a trendy twist which I grabbed at Zara a few weeks ago. Although I do like the fall, I think it's a shame to let my favorite summer pieces go. So I keep finding ways to still wear them by adding a sweater or cardigan. The scarf I am wearing belongs to Emiel which he received in Afghanistan when he served the army a few years ago. He has retired from the army ever since, but this scarf reminds me of how proud I am of him for his bravery and courage. On top of that the scarf is just so freaking cool and totally dressed down this outfit for a casual and relaxed look don't you think?
