Fashion Week Day 1 Ootd
Hey everyone
I am so sorry for the delay in posts, but I have been crazy busy for the past week so I haven't been able to blog let alone visit my friends blogs and say hi or reply to comments or anything! As you may know, I got invited to multiple shows at Amsterdam fashion week. Five days of real life fashion. Exhilarating, inspiring, blissful, hectic yet wonderfully exhausting, this has been a week that will be hard to ever forget.
For day one I decided to wear something comfortable yet classy and colorful. A stunning floral scarf by Luxyra added that much needed color I was looking for. Luxyra is a very exclusive brand specialized in original Russian scarfs of extreme high quality and allure. I have to add that all the designs are of impeccable beauty and print and are made of real sheeps wool and pure silk. The fringes are hand made and add a trendy yet timeless touch . Do check out their classy collection right here if you are in need for some luxury around your neck during the cold and even chilly spring days. Luxyra scarfs are of such amazing quality they also do make for the perfect gift that will just last a life time!
Now let's talk about Fashion Week. The first show I attended was from the much anticipated: Aziz Bekkaoui and I have to tell you, can anyone be more fabulous then Aziz?
Check out my Fashion Week day 1 diary!
The Spot
The Show:
Safe the best for last? This quote does not apply to a fearless designer named: Aziz Bekkaoui!
Amsterdam Fashion Week day one kicked off with a show that's in my top three favorites of this 2014 edition and has been announced in the Dutch media as one of the best shows Amsterdam Fashion week has seen in their ten year existence!
Aziz, a groundbreaking and creative individual knows how to create pieces that go far beyond
the ordinary. His 2014 Fall/Winter collection was filled with furry hats, lace printed
tights - oh yeah welcome back from the eighties -, leather pants and skirts, silks, wool fabrics, chunky knits all paired with bold leather
army boots and bomber jackets, vibing a multi cultured, military and religious background, yet was easily
transformed in to an urban and street wise vision called: "Images Rule". Here a few photos I shot to give you an idea.
Eat your heart out "all black" and lace lovers!
Aziz opened his show by bringing out one model strutting down the runway to peaceful classical music and totally changed it all up by bringing in an army of dancers moving to Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" beats. It was so unexpected everyone in the audience woke up in surprise and from that moment on the show was a full half hour explosion of banging music, fierce models with tons of the needed attitude and of course a killer collection containing an astonishing number of 64 pieces!
Aziz ended his show by walking down the entire runway with his army of models and even backstage co-workers to receive a standing ovation!
Out of the more then ten shows I was been able to visit during Fashion week Aziz Bekkaoui along with designer -Dorthuis Mees- were the only designers receiving this honor and trust me it was well deserved, because I think Aziz collection is of international level of fabulousness. I am already thinking of grabbing myself a few lace tights and pairing it with a furry hat and some chunky knits on the blog. This show inspired me to the bone!
Fashion Week Amsterdam celebrated their ten year anniversary, so of course it was time for a huge and fashionable birthday cake that tasted delicious and was a much needed treat after a show that still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!
Aziz I am your fan!
I was wearing:
Scarf: Luxyra: here, Blazer and shorts: Zara, Boots: Unisa, Top: Primark, Bag: David Jones
